Dicas de pescaria: como limpar peixe corretamente?

Fishing enthusiasts already know: the fishing process begins long before catching fish, even before reaching the lake or sea. It actually starts with preparing the various essential fishing items to bring along.

It doesn't matter if you're a beginner at fishing or already experienced, because there's no escaping it: it's natural for humans to forget one thing or another – but this can significantly affect your fishing performance. After all, what is a fisherman if not a well-prepared figure, ready for any situation?

Today, Cutelaria Cimo will help you never again leave home to catch fish without bringing all the necessary fishing gear for this adventure. Check out our recommendations and lists of what to bring to your fishing trip!

What should you bring on a fishing trip? Check out the list!

Fishing items usually vary according to the angler, as well as their preferences, location, fishing method, and even the type of fish to be caught. However, there are some common aspects worth highlighting:

1. Tackle box and fishing equipment

A tackle box is essential for carrying your rod, lures, reel, and all the necessary fishing gear. A good tip is to always keep the tackle box full, replenishing used or lost items. Certain accessories are not mandatory, such as a landing net, but are recommended. They help you remove the fish from the water and then remove the hook from the catch, processes that can be complicated without the correct tools. Check out the list:

  • Rod;
  • Reel;
  • Baitcaster;
  • Line;
  • Hook;
  • Snap;
  • Landing net.

And of course, a sharp pocket knife can help you in various stages of preparing your fishing gear.

2. Chair or stool

A chair or stool is a great option for those who plan to spend the day fishing, ensuring comfort, safety, and ergonomics during the process. Even if you think you won't use it, we recommend bringing a chair anyway. The spirit of community should prevail among anglers, and someone will always appreciate the chair or stool at the end of the day. There are foldable options made of water-resistant material, so bringing them is practical and worry-free about rust and wear.

3. Fishing bobber

Whether for practicing in lakes, ponds, or even for beach fishing, one of the fishing equipment items that makes a big difference is a bobber for your fishing line. This item helps both to know where the line is, and consequently the hook, and also helps keep the rod at the right depth. There are even models made to be used at night, ensuring they can be seen by anglers.

4. Pliers and fishing knife

Other fishing items that make a difference in daily fishing are pliers, which help when dealing with the hook, changing lines, removing what got stuck in the fish, and other situations that may arise. Additionally, when we clean the fish we've caught, or even prepare it for consumption right after, a good fishing knife becomes an essential item to have with you.

5. Cooler and ice

A cooler and ice are items that make a difference when preserving the fish that have been caught, allowing you to stay longer during this enjoyable fishing time. So, don't be fooled, even if your intention is to make a primitive fire and consume the fish you've collected, you'll still need to keep them in good condition while finishing your fishing trip.

6. Personal care items

Many anglers don't even leave home without their lucky fishing hat. But we dare to say that other clothing is just as important – the hat alone won't protect you from a possible sunburn, hypothermia, or fever. To avoid these serious consequences, invest in a good fishing shirt, with breathable fabric and UV protection. Long-sleeved options are the best, as arms tend to be very exposed to the sun.

Another necessary investment is polarized glasses, which block reflections on flat surfaces like water. These lenses reduce the impact of light and allow you to spend hours seeing comfortably. However, it's worth remembering that, despite being very important, clothing does not replace good sunscreen. Without it, the risks of developing skin cancer are very high, considering that fishing requires prolonged hours of outdoor exposure. With that in mind, check out the list we made:

  • Sunscreen;
  • Insect repellent;
  • Parasol;
  • Sunglasses;
  • Appropriate clothing;
  • Food or snacks;
  • Drinking water.

Remember that, whether it's just for sport or leisure fishing, or even for consumption at the end, bringing snacks or practical food is essential to face the long hours ahead. Large quantities of drinking water are also vital: especially under the sun, dehydration should be treated as something serious. A canteen or a thermos should never leave the angler's side.

These were our lists! With our recommendations in checklist format, we are sure that it will be very difficult to forget which fishing items to bring. To enjoy this sport even more, learn now the best way to make grilled fish barbecue!
