Dicas de acampamento: leve seu camping para outro nível

Cutlery is an essential factor that should be taken into consideration when venturing into the wilderness. Everyone already knows that bringing a good pocket knife is fundamental for dealing with various situations. But today, our camping tips go far beyond the basics!

We know that, as a good cutlery enthusiast, you also enjoy adventures in contact with nature, so we've put together some ideas that will help you level up your next camping trip.

Normally, we plan a camping trip superficially. We know where to go, what to bring, and how to protect ourselves from insects, cold, and things like that. However, there's always that detail that no one talks about or pays attention to that ends up making a difference.

With that in mind, we've put together a list of some camping tips. Keep reading to check them out!

Camping tips: prevent unforeseen events!

For those of you who don't want an insignificant aspect to force you to improvise in moments that could be peaceful, read on for what we've prepared!

Pay attention to the campsite location

We are fortunate to live in a country with options for every camping style. If you like mountains and highlands, you probably already know that cutlery is extremely important in these places. But whether in inhospitable routes or environments designed for camping, paying attention to the location makes a difference.

It is necessary to observe the ground of the place very carefully, to prevent your tent from suffering any degradation from branches, rocks, or sharp objects. In addition, it is best to position the tent on a slightly sloped surface.

Normally, we look for a flat space, as it facilitates tent pitching and stability. However, very flat places, with soft grass, which apparently are ideal, tend to accumulate more water and create small puddles.

Therefore, opting for slightly sloped environments means that, if it rains during the camping trip, the terrain will not accumulate puddles that could hinder the tent's stability or even force you to move.

It's also worth observing whether the location is well protected from the wind and what the shade conditions of the terrain are. Ideally, during the day, the sun should hit the tent strongly, making you wake up early to enjoy the day. In the late afternoon, the place should already be covered with shade, to stay cool during the night.

Set up the tent away from passage areas

Is the idea to hit the road or not? If the answer is yes, then keep in mind that setting up a tent near trails and roads is not part of the scope. Go deep into the forest, look for lakes, rivers, waterfalls, and stay near them.

The main justification for this tip is safety. This is because, during the night, while campers are resting, passage areas become dangerous routes, with occasional circulation of unknown people.

Take equipment maintenance seriously

Don't just grab your backpack and go without checking if your equipment is adequate and won't let you down. If you find a simple hole in your backpack, fix it before the camping trip, as well as any other misalignment, no matter how simple it may seem.

Clean your canteen, check if your camping tarp is in good condition, if your ropes are suitable for use. Also remember to bring extra ropes and stakes, as a precaution, and always check if your pocket knife needs to be replaced or if it will serve you well.

Preserve the campsite

A good portion of forest fires start from campfires that were not properly extinguished. We know that campfires can be essential in dense forests, however, make sure to completely extinguish them when you leave.

Another important point is not to leave trash behind when breaking down camp. Even if it's small waste, like a cigarette butt, take everything back with you.

This is the only way to respect the environment that hosts us during these days. Oh, and about the trash: while camping, hang the trash bag a little distance from the tent, so you avoid bad smells and don't attract insects.

Don't leave out anything essential!

Most campers only remember important items when they feel the need and it's too late to go back for them. But check out our list so you don't forget anything on your next adventure:

  • flashlight
  • ropes
  • stakes
  • repellent
  • lighter
  • pocket knife
  • batteries
  • something to filter water
