Cuidados diários: técnicas de corte com roçadeiras

If you have a brush cutter, whether professional, multi-purpose, or for gardening, you know that handling the machine well is an important factor for obtaining good results. Applying the correct cutting techniques is fundamental.

This is because, even when using a brush cutter for the first time, having an understanding of how it works allows for quicker, more practical, and more efficient use. It's possible to rotate the equipment in semi-circles and work step by step, always moving forward.

Of course, to get the best results, you also need a good quality brush cutter blade. But you already know that's not a problem, because here at Cutelaria Cimo, you'll find ideal models for any use.

We've put together some basic techniques and suggestions to give you more knowledge on how to cut large areas, using less time and achieving better results. Check them out:

Basic, yet essential movements

Our first technique couldn't be other than the most basic and traditional: the classic movement of cutting from right to left. This is the most classic way to get good results, which is why it's widely used.

Since the cutting unit usually rotates counter-clockwise, this movement is super simple to apply. Furthermore, the great advantage of this style is that the collected debris is deposited in areas that have already been cut.

However, not all terrains are best handled when cut this way, so there are some other techniques we can use in our daily routine.

High grass areas: how to be more efficient?

As we know, brush cutters were developed for intensive or semi-intensive use. Often, they are used in domestic areas; however, commercial properties are also common.

So, how do you quickly clear a neglected plot where the grass has grown tall?

In these cases, the best alternative is to cut the grass in two directions, but this time separately. First, you need to cut the upper part of the grass from the right. Then, in the opposite direction, cutting towards the lower part.

By doing this, the debris will accumulate on the left side of the machine, making the entire job easier and faster.

Large and flat areas: is there a correct movement?

Yes! Brush cutters are manufactured with a reinforced clutch and, using the right blade, they have a super effective cutting power. Furthermore, it is equipment that can be easily handled.

However, when it comes to tidying up large areas, some difficulties can be encountered. The organization of work is one of them, as each person judges one method to be more efficient than another.

Where to start? How to finish the path quickly, without leaving a poorly done job? Generally, the main method is to divide the entire surface into squares. After doing this, the work should start from the edges and move towards the middle.

Strip by strip: the method for slopes

Being extremely versatile, brush cutters can be used in many different situations, including forestry tasks and even agriculture. However, to operate the equipment on slopes, a very specific method is required.

In this case, it will be necessary to cut a strip parallel to the slope and then return on the already cut strip. Once this is done, it will be possible to move on to the next strips and repeat the same procedure. As in previous cases, the cut grass will be discarded in another area that has already been worked on.

How to cut areas with obstacles?

The use of an extremely high-quality and precise blade is essential for this job to be performed near obstacles. Whether it's trees, branches, or trunks, it's recommended that you use a durable and very accurate blade.

If plants are very close to each other, it may be necessary to move them apart before cutting. This can be done manually, or by using the brush cutter's guard as guidance.

To accomplish the task with practicality and the least possible effort, always direct your brush cutter along the obstacle and make the movement around what will be cut. By doing this, the obstacle will always be protected and the surrounding surface will be cut.

Brush cutter or lawnmower? Which to choose?

Both pieces of equipment are designed for domestic and professional use, ideal for keeping gardens well-maintained or larger places like farms and ranches always beautiful.

It's true that both require more effort from the operator, especially when compared to tractors, for example. However, they are best suited for smaller areas.

While the lawnmower is recommended for trimming lawns, the brush cutter can be more comprehensive and offer a more precise finish. However, they require blades that meet the demands.

Here at Cutelaria CIMO you'll find brush cutter blade models of various sizes, including our two-hole brush cutter blade, which is universal in size and can work with any brush cutter dimension.
